Lucille is an exploration of how softness, delicacy, and fragility can be reframed. Inspired by the rise of hyper-feminine aesthetics, such as “coquette” culture, the collection confronts the way online spaces have romanticized girlhood through a narrow, often harmful lens. Lucille challenges this by embracing those same codes of “daintiness”—pleats, gathers, silk chiffon, organza—but stripping them of their expected sweetness through a stark, dark, and monochromatic palette. The result is a collection that mirrors the silhouette of the so-called “fragile girl,” but reframes her not as weak or submissive, but as sharp, powerful, and entirely self-possessed. Lucille is not a rejection of femininity; it is a demand to see it differently.
